FracFx Plugin Pack by FracFx FracFx Plugin Pack by FracFx
A while back I had removed all my plugins after a conversation with someone who was making an external render program and he didn't like me not following "the rules" of plugin making.

After talking to =Xyrus02 I became convinced to re-upload them (because he doesn't follow "the rules" either and that's how Direct Coloring plugins came about :D).

These are experimental and I included the source codes for the ones I still had (lost some due to hard drive crash and don't recall the source)

Plugins included:

Blocky.dll (based off of Tyrantwaves Block plugin)

Bubble2.dll (my version of bubble with x,y,z variables, the preview shown above uses this)

Marblur.dll (not really a blur, came about as an experiment with hyperbolic tesselations, more like a different kind of bubble/hemisphere type plugin)

Mcarpet.dll ("Magic Carpet", a kind funky plugin that "twists" your flame)
this dev was made using mcarpet in Apophysis2.08beta2-2d:

Mirrors.dll (lost the source code but there are some scripts out there that use this so I included it)

Octagon.dll (another experiment that came about from a hyperbolic tesselation experiment)

Splitbrdr.dll (combination of Boarders and splits plugins)

Tess_v2.dll (a tesselation plugin based off of Keeps Tess_v1_unreleased plugin)

the main reason I uploaded it is because
~Juggalo5 just posted the Medallion Tutorial that uses marblur.dll [link]

+ the BC & BD scripts that are out that use Mirror.dll

These are not compatible with flam3 if you render by the "export to disc" method using flam3, but they will render just fine with Apophysis' internal renderer

special thanks to =Xyrus02, ~Keeps, and
~zephyrtronium for all the help in programming Apo plugins and the GDG Tutorial in Aposhack :p

thanks, these were some of my first plugins and I didn't exactly follow the "rules" so they can be kinda funky acting sometimes, my last one (my favorite) was DC-Cylinder (not in this pack) can be downloaded here fracfx.deviantart.com/art/DC-C…

I have been looking for the "squarical" plugin...any chance you might know where I can find it?

I think it's in a pack on this page: [link]
The originator "Keeps" deactivated his account a while back, but it's here somewhere, I don't have a way to download those packs to check but I'm pretty sure it's in one of them.

no problem, I think there are several version of bubble2 but made by different people depends on which one you're really looking for if you're using a script, mirror is kinda funky, it doesn't like negative values and probably works best as an fx transform just experiment with it

Read my journal for info on getting started with Apophysis, tips, and the beginners tutorials I've suggested.
I didn't really add any flame files or tutorials for using them. You use them like any other plugins and learn by experimenting. My plugins aren't that great anyway, I'm better at scripts, my plugins are experimental and don't really follow the "rules" of normal plugins, basically they are usually combinations of two plugins combined into one :p

ah Welcome, you can learn quite a bit by reading the tutorials I've suggested in my journal and feel free to ask me any questions you may have in a note as I'm not online that much lately.
You can also learn a lot and meet the fractal "masters" in the Aposhack chat room:

I'm using 7X.14DC and when I open it there is a problem with the mirror.dll "cannot open...error998 Invalid access to memory" How can I correct that so I can use the plug-in?

I would need a list of all the plugins you are currently using.
Whenever you get that message it's a plugin conflicting with another one of your plugins. I have it installed in my Apo-DC version and it works. I can pretty much tell or guess which one causes the conflict because I've tried them all and know which ones are problematic
almost all of the Z plugins (ie. Zcross.dll, etc. although Zcross is about the only one that works) cause problems, and some of the AV plugins.
You'll have to note me with a list and I'll sort out which one is causing the problem

I'm sure skyzyk has solved the problem by now. I had the same difficulty on Apo 7x.15 and figured out that the mirrors plugin cannot be used when the checks plugin is installed. They seem to conflict. I removed checks and everything was fine. I'm just writing this so that people searching in the Internet (like I did) can find the solution. Hope this will work for them too.

no mblur is a different plugin and is actually a type of blur. Marblur isn't actually a blur type of plugin, it was a play on names as I was making a marble script at the same time I was making the plugin and I use it for the FX to make a different type of "marble" than you would if you used bubble or hemisphere :D
I can see how that could be confusing and people that don't have marblur would probably think it's a typo, I actually made it long before mblur was released :D

LOL, very cool. I will give that a try then on some final transforms. I do like the effect of both hemisphere and bubble so it will be neat to see what it does. :D

no problem, I guess I overreacted to a note sent to me by the render program developer and removed them.
I don't use flam3 anymore anyway (thought I was using it but actually I was using the internal renderer the whole time without any problems).

you bet, I'm starting to work on a new plugin now since I've learned a lot more about c++ and the "proper" way to create an Apo Plugin :D
So there will be more plugins, scripts, gradient packs, tutorials, etc. to come :)

I used it as the Fx on that dev, it's a Grand Julian type flame with mcarpet as the Fx, not very versatile but then my experimenting with it was rather limited, I just thought yaay I made a plugin that worked! :D

I'm glad my tutorial helped to get you to reupload this. Marblur has been one of my favorite plugins. I haven't used it by itself very much on its own xforms, but I find that combining it with other variations on the same xform produces interesting shapes. I'll have to give this a download later and check out the others. Mirrors has also had some great implementations :D I look forward to giving some more of these a whirl.

A question... why just in RAR ? No changes to have it just winzipped ? :) I do not understnd how to save and handle this RAR thing, just popup comes up and I do not manage to saved them right..

RAR is like ZIP, however it uses WinRAR instead of WinZip. In general, I've seen more RAR than ZIP for the most part. You can get winrar here: [link]

sorry force of habit as I've been using winrar
(which is actually winzip updated) for over 10yrs.

7-zip is free and will open rar files.
Here's the download link: [link]

If it doesn't open with 7-zip automatically when you click on the rar file choose "open with", browse to C:\program Files\7-Zip and choose 7zFM (7zip File manager) and that will open any zip, rar and .7z files

Have tried this,to download 7zip.tried to find 7zFM via that popup where to chose wich pro I will use to open, came to 7zip yes,and then "LAN" and in there just an empty space...( I checked and yes the download and all its items are there as it should butnot when I go thru´the popoup and choosing.Well, RAR seems not working out for me, sorry ,but thanks for earlier answer and help anyway! :)

Seems like the problem there is you're trying to load the program from the Local Area Network and the 7-zip program would have to be on the main server in that case.
Anyhow I downloaded Winzip and made a .zip file for you
