Impending Invasion by FracFx Impending Invasion by FracFx
An Update on my Homage to Sci-fi pic for an entry into :iconcabintom:'s "Space Alien" conetst:
[link]

I made an updated version since the original messed up during the rendering process and I added some "Planets".
The thing in the bottom right corner is my Japanese Kanji name.

Used CabinTom's Technica Script:

for the base flame in Apophysis 2.07beta:

and then tweaked and edited in the Apophysis 3Dhack:

thanks, the render is kinda crappy but that's what makes it work here, cheesy looking 50's sci-fi :D

...I think the image would work better without the second hovering sphere... That way it doesn't distract from the amazing details of the main image. Great work, I love it! :)

thanks, it wasn't in the original and to me it felt like something was missing so I made a "marble" from the original flame and added it as a planet :/

it's not that hard really, just run the Technica script in the Apo3dhack (or Apo7x), change the pitch so that it tilts and use a bubble+preblur for the middle with a ztranslate.
I think it a couple of flames using the same technique layered on top of each other if I remember correctly.

Kind of embarrassing seeing this 2 years later, I could do 10 times better now :p

Thanks for the :+fav: :)
